We are seeking candidates who are able to drive purchasing activities in a fast-paced, results-oriented purchasing department. Ideal candidates will have a can-do attitude and are able to adapt to a fast-paced environment that requires meeting deadlines, following procedures and maintaining a high energy.
Job Duties:
Daily purchasing for production, including international purchasing, expediting, negotiations, inventory management, obtaining hard cost savings, working closely with product development and manufacturing planners, reporting and special projects.
Analyzing purchasing history of goods and services
Offering input in developing specifications and scopes of work; determining appropriate procurement methods and developing individual procurement schedules.
Negotiating and issuing basic contracts and purchase orders
Working with customers to obtain information, and resolve questions
Determining or recommending awards of bids
Expediting purchase orders and deliveries
Skills Required:
Purchasing principles, practices and governing ordinances
Principles and methods of negotiations
Principles, practices, and procedures of inventory and quality control
Oracle skills, particularly the PO, and requisitioning
Demonstrated expertise with MS- Excel and proficiency
Ability to plan and organize work to meet changing priorities and deadlines
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Experience/Schooling or Degree Required:
Experience in sourcing, procurement, negotiations or contract implementation.
Minimum of two years purchasing experience with MRP
High school diploma; some college is preferred.
