Ortho Production Machinist

Job Duties:
Sets up and operates numerical control machines or machining centers to perform various machine functions, such as cutting,
drilling, milling, reaming, boring and broaching of metallic and non-metallic work pieces
Checks blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of
finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-or-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or
control media as required.
Skills Required:
Ability to follow procedures in maintaining router and detail part inspection records
Ability to read and understand required part drawings
Familiarity with geometric dimensioning & tolerancing
Advanced knowledge of precision measuring tools:
Micrometers, calipers, indicators, gages, scales, and optical comparator.
Intermediate trouble shooting skills
Experience/Schooling or Degree Required:
Must have a minimum of 2 years experience setting up and operating a variety of CNC mills and lathes in a production
environment.
