We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Nurse/Veterinary Nurse Assistant to join our team.
As a Veterinary Nurse/Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients.
This position requires expertise in equine and small animal care, as well as strong technical skills in animal handling, catheterization, and grooming.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and procedures - Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians - Perform animal catheterization and assist with diagnostic tests - Monitor vital signs and provide post-operative care - Maintain accurate medical records and update patient files - Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their owners - Assist with animal husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and exercise - Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the veterinary clinic - Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition Requirements:
- Certified Veterinary Nurse or equivalent qualification - Experience working with small animals in a veterinary setting - Proficiency in animal handling techniques and restraint methods - Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and common diseases - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members - Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Preferred Skills:
- AAHA/Fear Free/AAFP certified highly preferred, but not required.
