SummaryA billing specialist is someone who enjoys utilizing their medical billing expertise.
The position requires a motivated and professional individual who will contribute positively to the team by helping others problem-solve in a collaborative environment.
They will use EMR software and contribute to the full revenue cycle management services, including payer credentialing and contracting, claims, payments, follow-up, and denial resolution.
They have a thorough knowledge of payer policies, guidelines, appeals, corrected/voided claim submission, and up-to-date on all-payer changes.
They verify the completeness and accuracy of all claims before submission and accurately post all insurance and client payments.
Objectives:
Understands and utilizes relevant laws and best practicesEnsures clients are billed correctly for services renderedAdheres to all company policies and proceduresPresents self in a professional manner
Responsibilities:
Creates invoices for submissionTracks, submits, appeals, and resolves denied claims, as well as analyze reimbursements according to contractual agreementsPerforms a variety of duties, including accounts receivable, customer service, correspondence response, and daily reconciliation of activitiesManages unassigned payments and applies them to outstanding balances or submits requests for refundAcquires accurate benefits, including co-pays, co-insurance, deductible, etc.
Coordinates benefits and transition between various levels of careCommunicates with clients to answer questionsLearns and practices de-escalation techniques (may occasionally be exposed to high-stress environments)Maintains a clean and orderly environmentRequirements:
